Lam Soon is a leading FMCG player in Southeast Asia with over 70 years of history, operating across Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam. The Group is known for its quality products, strong brand management, and extensive sales and distribution network.
Its activities span plantation and milling, refining, and manufacturing, with factories in Malaysia and Thailand certified under ISO 9001, ISO 14001, GMP, and HACCP. In addition to its own brands, Lam Soon also provides contract manufacturing services, particularly in soap production. Through a diverse FMCG portfolio, Lam Soon has built a trusted brand identity rooted in integrity and approachability, while continuing to innovate and support localised CSR initiatives across its markets.

Our History
Discover our journey since 1950.
The history of the Group began with the incorporation of Lam Soon Cannery Private Limited by Ng Keng Soon to trade copra and canned food.
The next generation, led by Whang Tar Choung and Whang Tar Liang, built upon this foundation and expanded the business into the manufacturing of cooking oil and laundry soap at its factory in Jalan Jurong Kechil, Singapore.

First Factory in Malaysia
Lam Soon set up its first modern manufacturing facility in Petaling Jaya, pioneering the milling and refining of copra into cooking oil and soap in what was then Malaya.
Expanding into Hong Kong
Lam Soon (Hong Kong) is incorporated, paving the way for the group's international presence and its future listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
Pioneer Recognition in Singapore
Lam Soon Oil & Soap Manufacturing (Singapore) Pte Ltd receives pioneer status from the Singapore Government—recognising its early role in advancing local beauty soap production and contributing to national industrialisation.
